Choose the place where you actually sit. Straighten the throw, make room for your cup and move the one thing that keeps getting in the way. Leave yourself somewhere welcoming to return to.

That can be the whole task. A small room does not need a grand transformation to feel kinder.

Open the curtains while the light is good. Turn on a lamp when it fades. Keep the texture you love within reach. The ordinary corner becomes yours again through use.
