Field notes from home
A corner for a cloudy day.
The rain makes the window feel like a small room of its own. I clear a little space, turn a leaf toward the light, and leave room for the cup.
Five minutes of room.
Move the stray things off one surface. Open the curtain all the way. Fold the soft throw instead of finding a new place for it. Let the greenest thing in the room have the light.
Then sit down while the coffee is warm. A home can feel cared for before every chore is done.
