The five-minute
coffee corner.
A kitchen can be lived in and still offer one lovely place to begin.
National Coffee Day feels like a good excuse to tend to the spot where the morning starts. Not a room makeover. Just enough space to make the next cup easier.
First, make a landing place.
Clear a cup-sized patch of counter. Put away the things that belong somewhere else. Leave the rest for another time.
Keep the daily things close.
Put the cup, spoon, and coffee you use most where you can reach them. The occasional extras can live a little farther away.
Give the corner one lovely thing.
A living leaf. A clean towel. A favorite small bowl. Let one detail earn its place by making you happy.
Finish with the cup.
Stop arranging. Make the coffee. A useful corner has done its job when it lets you enjoy being there.
Come into the OyaJava kitchen for today’s pour, or give the first sip a small intention.
